WELCOME TO FIRST GRADE!

I am so excited to have your child in my classroom this year!  It is wonderful to get to be a part of the Luling Primary School family and this tight-knit community as I begin my teaching journey here.  GO EAGLES!  This year in 1st Grade will be filled with engaging discovery, social and academic growth, fun and meaningful learning, soaring to meet our goals, and new achievements.
Teaching with a service-minded attitude and nurturing every student every day is my passion, and I am dedicated to creating an education environment in which your child is always valued, respected, safe, and supported as they reach their goals.  I believe in the power of getting students to be confident in their abilities as they see their own progress and success.  Cultivating kindness at every chance in order to foster the best classroom environment possible is also close to my heart as an educator.  I am truly looking forward to seeing where this year will take us as a classroom community of learners!

Meet Miss Aguayo...
I am a native Texan, and I live with my family and my four-legged best friend, Lucie.  The most important parts of my life are family and faith.  I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas State University, and school has been one of my greatest loves since my first day of kindergarten in 1998.  I am passionate about both learning and teaching.
When I am not living my dream of working to inspire children to be lifelong learners, you can find me out in my element: nature.  Finding peace in the outdoors as a hiker, explorer, and freelance magazine photographer is my happy place, and I enjoy studying botany and wildlife biology in my spare time.  Keeping travel journals and nature artifact notebooks is one of my hobbies, and a favorite pastime to fuel my love for adventuring in wild places is taking road trips.  Colorado is the destination I love most.
Reading and writing poetry and children's literature is another one of my favorite ways to spend time, and I recently published my first work of poetry in 2018.  When it comes to expressing my creativity, I also greatly enjoy sewing, crafting, gardening, and painting.

Fun Facts:
I am an "old soul" with a love for all things vintage.
I am a huge fan of America's Favorite Pastime, baseball (Go Rangers!).
I was a state medalist in Studio Art in high school (I love art!).
Memories of my kindergarten teacher and experience inspired me to become a teacher.
I absolutely love rainy, stormy weather.
Of everyone in all of my family, I am the only person with blue eyes.
If I ever worked in any other profession, I would be a:  meteorologist or wildlife biologist.
